Chyavanaprasam is a polyherbal formulation; with Amalaki fruit also called Amla or Indian Gooseberry (Emblicaofficinalis) as the main ingredient. Amla is one of the richest sources of Vitamin C. The formula also contains several other herbs including ashwagandha, saffron, long pepper, white sandalwood, cardamom, tulsi, Brahmi, arjun, jatamansi, neem. The primary action of Chyawanprash is to bolster immunity. As it is high in Vitamin C, it aids in the production of hemoglobin and white blood cells.
